Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead enterprise-scale Generative AI solutions across AWS Bedrock and Google Vertex AI, shaping secure, scalable AI platforms for health care.

You will define technical strategy, establish architectural standards, mentor engineers, and partner with product, security, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory and performance goals are met.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience in systems analysis, design, and leadership.
• 5+ years delivering enterprise cloud solutions on AWS/Google Cloud.
• 5+ years building secure, scalable enterprise APIs.
• 3+ years working with Generative AI/LLMs in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end platform delivery of scalable, secure AI services.
• Architect retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions with cloud data sources.
• Design multi-cloud, secure interfaces and guardrails with latency and cost focus.
• Define reference architectures and ADRs; drive platform standards and SLOs.
• Champion Responsible AI: safety filters, guardrails, data minimization.
• Partner with Security, Privacy, and Legal for HIPAA/PHI compliance.
• Build observability for groundedness, hallucination, relevance, and drift.
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of learning.
