Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking an AI Infrastructure Technical System Engineer and Leader to shape enterprise AI platforms across bare-metal GPU clusters and Kubernetes-based pipelines.

You will define architectural direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Cisco hardware, network teams and ecosystem partners to deliver scalable, high-performance AI infrastructure with robust observability and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise systems engineering, HPC, AI infrastructure, or SRE.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash with declarative automation.
• Advanced expertise designing and administering production Kubernetes, OpenShift, and HPC workload managers.
• Strong understanding of AI backend network fabrics and high-speed networks.
• Knowledge of Linux systems, kernel modules, and GPU drivers.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design, hardware qualification, capacity planning, and maintenance of large-scale GPU clusters.
• Architect resilient, multi-tenant compute and control planes across bare-metal Kubernetes, OpenShift, and HPC cluster managers.
• Collaborate with network engineering to design, benchmark, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency backend fabrics.
• Champion Site Reliability Engineering and develop IaC/GitOps deployment pipelines.
• Oversee automated workflows for firmware baselines, BIOS/BMC configuration, kernel updates, and platform upgrades.
• Develop observability standards using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Splunk.
