Job summary

Toyota Financial Services seeks a Principal AI Governance & Security Engineer in Plano, TX. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of AI governance, AI security, and forward deployed engineering, building enterprise controls for safe, compliant AI deployments.

You will own the governance framework, work with cross‑functional teams, and drive security into the AI/ML lifecycle with strong software engineering.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with AI/ML governance and information-security of AI/ML.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise AI governance frameworks and operational governance processes.
• Ability to translate security, risk, privacy, and compliance requirements into executable controls and working software.
• Deep understanding of AI/model risk with knowledge of SR 11‑7, NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001.
• Practical AI security depth including threat modeling, guardrails, IAM, secrets management.
• Experience governing GenAI, RAG, and agentic systems with registries and mediation patterns.
• Strong software, data-engineering, or automation skills with cloud and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, author, and maintain the enterprise AI governance framework across AI use cases and models.
• Operationalize lifecycle gates: intake, risk classification, control design, approval workflows, monitoring.
• Embed with use‑case teams to ship executable controls within governed boundaries.
• Perform AI-specific threat modeling and risk assessments; design mitigations across data, model, app, and infra.
• Lead forward deployed engineering to build guardrail services, evaluation pipelines, and registrations.
