Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an AI Gateway Security Engineer, Lead, to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise AI gateway security across multi-cloud and federal environments. You will lead guardrail implementations, policy enforcement, and secure API integrations supporting LLM inference and agent-based architectures.

You will mentor staff, automate policy-as-code, and collaborate with cloud, security, and DevSecOps teams to drive remediation and governance across enterprise-scale deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity operations, security engineering, or vulnerability management.
• Experience deploying AI security measures such as AI gateways and guardrails in multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with API integrations and machine-to-machine authentication and authorization (OAuth).
• Experience with AI application/agent architectures including LLM inference.
• Experience supporting security tooling within federal environments.
• Experience building high availability architectures for enterprise-scale deployments.
• Ability to automate tooling via APIs, Terraform, Kubernetes, or scripting.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust/Suitability determination.
• Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Designs, deploys, integrates, and maintains AI gateway security capabilities across complex, multi-cloud and federal environments.
• Leads implementation of security controls, including guardrails and policy enforcement, for LLM inference and agent-based architectures.
• Automates policy-as-code, remediation workflows, and governance using Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, APIs, scripting, and OPA.
• Mentors team members and may supervise staff; partners with cloud engineering and security teams to operationalize findings.
