Job summary

Verizon in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a senior data scientist to lead end-to-end propensity modeling within a modern, agile pod. You will own complex models, drive microsegmentation, and partner with marketing to reduce churn and optimize customer journeys.

You will mentor engineers, translate insights to business partners, and deliver measurable performance. The role requires strong Python, R, SQL skills and prior production ML experience in a corporate setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work or military experience or specialized training.
• Four or more years of experience independently developing, deploying, and optimizing complex machine learning or propensity models in production.
• Experience working on high-priority or high-visibility technical initiatives within a corporate setting.
• Experience with Python, R, and SQL for advanced statistical modeling and large-scale data extraction.

Responsibilities

• Building, training, and deploying complex propensity models to predict customer behaviors and churn risk.
• End-to-end model development pipelines from feature engineering to production deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborating with marketing stakeholders to translate business retention goals into data science solutions.
• Owning model lifecycle in high-impact areas with continuous optimization and measurable performance.
