Job summary

Maximus is actively seeking a Lead AI Engineer to advance AI and algorithm capabilities across enterprise and government programs. This hands‑on role focuses on designing, building, testing, deploying, and refining production AI solutions that scale and perform.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience, deep Python expertise, and strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), with a track record of shipping production algorithms and mentoring other engineers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
7+ years of professional advanced algorithm building and data science experience, including production systems.
7+ years of professional Data Science or advanced algorithm building experience.
5+ years of experience designing or building solutions in cloud environments.
3+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technologies.
Experience deploying algorithms in production outside notebooks (e.g. SageMaker, Jupyter).
Demonstrated ability communicating technical decisions to techncial and non‑technical colleagues.
US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and advance the applied use of AI/ML and data science solutions across the enterprise.
Mentor staff through solutioning of custom algorithms and enhancements.
Design, build, and improve production AI solutions and reusable components.
Own difficult technical problems from exploration to deployment and continuous improvement.
Write high-quality software and contribute to enterprise capabilities.
Build AI-enabled applications integrating models with enterprise data and APIs.
Evaluate emerging AI technologies for production value.
