Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to build AI foundations for LLM customization, finetuning, and reinforcement learning. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deploy AI software components and governance frameworks.

You're expected to stay at the forefront of AI research, apply novel techniques in production, and contribute to long-term roadmaps for foundational AI systems across Capital One.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/AI/EE/CE with 4+ years of AI/ML experience, or MS with 2+ years.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one JVM language (Go/Scala/Java).

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI tech including LLMs and guardrails.
• Advance state-of-the-art LLM optimization for production systems.
