Nubank in Palo Alto, California, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in AI Agents & Orchestration to drive the next phase of an AI native banking platform. You will embed Generative AI and create production-grade, agentic workflows and scalable RAG pipelines across markets.

You will lead AI architecture, design scalable systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Data Science to deliver high-impact AI features at Nu-speed.

Qualifications

• Technical Leadership: Lead high-impact, large-scale software systems.
• AI First Mindset: Experience implementing LLMs, Generative AI features, or RAG in production.
• Full Stack Thinking: Build maintainable codebases and API designs bridging model and UI.
• Complex Problem Solving: Navigate ambiguous projects across multiple units and stakeholders.
• Strategic Acumen: Tie AI initiatives to business outcomes like efficiency and growth.

Responsibilities

• Define the AI architecture and roadmap for scalable, cost-effective, reliable LLM integrations.
• Design and implement agentic workflows and RAG patterns for hyper-personalized experiences.
• Set canonical AI development standards and promote reusable components.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data Science to embed LLM capabilities across surfaces.
• Establish rigorous QA/monitoring for AI outputs ensuring safety, accuracy, and human-in-the-loop integrity.
• Mentor and scale via internal AI Academy and technical guilds.
• Balance short-term delivery with platform stability and model choice tradeoffs.
