Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a Head of Forward Deployed Engineer to translate AI pilots into production within manufacturing, supply chain, and quality. You will lead a small FDE team, ship production‑ready AI solutions, and collaborate with AI Delivery, Data, and IT to drive business outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering, enterprise integration, and change leadership to ensure adoption and scale across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
• 10+ years in software engineering and solution implementation with production code.
• Proficiency in Python and API/integration development on cloud platforms (Azure or Google Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, agents, ML and workflow automation in production.
• Experience deploying enterprise technology with business users and driving adoption.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers while contributing actively.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-enabled solutions that run reliably in production environments.
• Integrate with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP and plant/quality/supply chain platforms) via APIs.
• Own prototype-to-production path: testing, security, release, monitoring, and support.
• Embed and diagnose by working with plant leaders to understand actual workflows.
• Drive adoption with metrics, training materials, and deployment playbooks.
• Lead and mentor the FDE team and collaborate with AI, IT, and data teams.
• Collaborate across the enterprise on architecture and platform standards.
