Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a Head of Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to scale AI from pilots to production in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, procurement, engineering, and logistics. You’ll lead a small FDE team, work with business leaders, and deliver production-ready AI solutions that drive adoption and measurable outcomes.

The role blends hands-on engineering with change management, process discovery, and mentorship, ensuring reliable deployments and alignment with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years in software engineering, solution implementation, or digital transformation with a track record of shipping production code.
• Proficiency in Python and API/integration development on cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, agents, ML, and workflow automation in production.
• Experience deploying enterprise technology with business users and driving adoption.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers while staying hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-enabled solutions that run in production in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and logistics.
• Collaborate with AI Delivery, Data, and IT to align architecture and security standards.
• Lead the Forward Deployed Engineer team and coach engineers.
• Ensure adoption, training, and change management with measurable value.
