Job summary

Bausch + Lomb seeks a Head of Forward Deployed Engineer to turn AI pilots into production capability across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and logistics. This is a hands-on, player-coach role leading a small FDE team and collaborating with AI Delivery, Data, and IT to deliver as one team.

You will design, build, test, and deploy AI-enabled solutions, ensure regulatory and security compliance, and drive adoption with business users. Strong leadership and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, IS, or related field.
• 10+ years in software engineering and digital transformation.
• Proficiency in Python and API/integration development on Azure or Google Cloud.
• Hands-on production experience with generative AI, agents, ML, and workflow automation.
• Experience deploying enterprise tech with business users and driving adoption.
• Experience mentoring engineers while remaining an active contributor.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-enabled solutions (generative AI, agents, ML, workflow automation) that run reliably.
• Integrate with SAP and plant/quality/supply chain systems via APIs and data pipelines.
• Own prototype-to-production path: testing, security review, release, monitoring, post-deployment support.
• Apply validation and documentation practices appropriate to a regulated environment.
• Coach and mentor FDEs, setting standards for code quality and deployment.
