Job summary

AMD is hiring a Director of Silicon Design to lead AI-driven methods across x86 core development, embedding AI into verification, RTL design, and physical design. You will build and lead a team of engineers, set a multi-year AI vision, and report progress to executive leadership.

You will partner with architecture, design, verification, and tooling teams to prioritize investments, shape organizational strategy, and improve engineering efficiency and design quality across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of large engineering teams.
• Experience applying AI/ML to hardware design or EDA.
• Direct experience with CPU/SoC development domains (verification, RTL, or physical design).

Responsibilities

• Define and drive AI adoption strategy across verification, RTL design, and physical design in core development.
• Build and grow an engineering team focused on AI-enabled workflows and tooling.
• Align AI investments with engineering priorities and executive goals.
• Establish and track metrics: velocity, coverage, PPA, design-cycle adherence, and defect escape rate.
