Job summary

AMD is seeking a Director of Silicon Design to lead AI-driven adoption across x86 core development, defining vision and execution for AI integration in verification, RTL design, and physical design. You will build and lead a team of engineers and stakeholders, aligning investments with strategic priorities and delivering measurable efficiency gains.

Qualifications

• Need a track record of leading large engineering orgs.
• Experience applying AI/ML to hardware design and EDA workflows.
• Proven ability to set multi-year AI adoption strategy and execute.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, roadmap, and organizational AI adoption across core design domains.
• Build and grow a team of engineers and technical leaders.
• Partner with engineering leadership to prioritize AI initiatives and investments.
• Define and track success metrics (velocity, coverage, PPA, schedule adherence).
• Evaluate and adopt AI tools and platforms (open-source, EDA vendors, internal).
• Lead AI-enabled workflows, including enablement and training.
• Resolve cross-organizational challenges to AI adoption.
• Manage headcount planning and resource allocation for the AI team.
• Serve as executive point of contact for AI initiatives.
