Job summary

UKG is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to drive design, development, and deployment of a scalable, AI-native enterprise platform. You will shape backend services, integrate LLM-based AI, and connect with Salesforce to deliver real-time, secure data flows at scale.

You will mentor senior engineers, influence architecture decisions across multiple teams, and partner with product and AI/ML groups to translate business goals into resilient platform solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with design ownership over complex, distributed enterprise systems.
• Deep expertise in backend system design, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures and patterns.
• Hands-on experience integrating and productionizing AI/ML applications, LLM APIs, or agentic frameworks.
• Proven experience designing systems interfacing with major CRM platforms like Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable backends and API platforms to handle high-volume workloads.
• Drive AI and Agentic orchestration integration into core architecture.
• Design and optimize Salesforce and UKG platform integrations with real-time data flows.
• Build data migration layers and resilient data pipelines for complex domains.
• Establish observability, monitoring, and resilience to meet SLAs.
• Ensure security, governance, and compliant API structures across systems.
• Lead technical reviews and guide multi-disciplinary teams.
