Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Lead AI Automation Engineer to design and implement AI-powered automation solutions that transform Corporate Services and HR operations. This role bridges business needs with technical execution, architecting end-to-end solutions and mentoring teams in agentic development for rapid ROI.

You will build prototypes, lead cross-functional collaboration, and drive measurable efficiency gains across enterprise systems while operating with high autonomy in a hybrid Lake County, IL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of experience; Master’s with 6; or PhD with 2.
• Python proficiency — expert-level production-quality code for automation and AI/ML.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent AI orchestration frameworks.
• Proficiency in designing and deploying AI integrations using MCP and RAG concepts.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and LLM orchestration.
• Ability to deliver production-grade software in enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Broad technical proficiency across software development, data integration, cloud, and enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Corporate Services and HR stakeholders to understand current-state processes and translate into technical designs.
• Engineer and implement scalable AI automation solutions with production-ready code.
• Prioritize rapid prototyping and MVPs; validate with stakeholders and refine based on feedback.
• Cultivate cross-team relationships and identify reuse opportunities across platforms.
