Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Lead Data and Analytics Engineer to design and implement data solutions for Corporate Services and HR, driving measurable ROI. You will bridge business needs and technical execution, architect end-to-end solutions, and mentor the team in design thinking and AI-enabled automation.

This role reports to the Associate Director, BTS Corporate Services and is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence Tuesday through Thursday in Lake County, IL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degrees with matched experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for production-quality data pipelines.
• Experience with batch and real-time pipelines using Spark, Kafka, Flink, Databricks.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data lakes and data lakehouse architectures.
• Familiar with data quality, governance, and security.
• Experience with Airflow, dbt, Prefect.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Corporate Services and HR to translate current-state processes into technical designs.
• Engineer scalable data pipelines and production-ready code that integrates with enterprise systems.
• Prototype MVPs quickly, validate with stakeholders, and accelerate time-to-value.
• Mentor teammates and collaborate across teams to maximize internal resources.
