Job summary

Plaid is recruiting for a senior AI Applications Engineer in New York to lead projects delivering GenAI-powered financial experiences. You will design scalable backend services and intuitive frontend interfaces, collaborating with AI/ML engineers to deploy robust AI-powered features at scale.

You will experiment with multi-turn AI capabilities, evaluate technical feasibility, and drive customer value across Plaid's AI initiatives. Join a team building the AI-first future of fintech.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs to build products and ship to users.
• Proficiency in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and retrieval augmented generation.
• Knowledge of semantic search and embedding models; agent orchestration experience.
• Experience designing GenAI-powered UX and end-to-end customer experiences.
• Strong debugging and production-monitoring capabilities.
• Ability to conduct user research and rapidly prototype.
• Comfort balancing exploratory and concrete product directions.
• Passion for GenAI in fintech space.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, plus frontend applications.
• Collaborate with AI, software, and ML engineers to build GenAI-powered products.
