Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a senior software engineering leader to guide the Agentic AI Integrations team in Seattle. You will drive foundational components for multi-agent systems and shape AI interoperability across Atlassian products.

You will mentor engineers, partner with product, data science, and platform teams, and ensure reliable, scalable services while pursuing cost efficiency and latency goals.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years in software development with 4+ years in people management.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML platform engineering, model serving, or agent frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Build, coach, and mentor a team of software engineers.
• Technical Strategy: Deliver foundational components for multi-agent systems and lead adoption of MCP/A2A.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Platform, and Data Science teams to embed AI capabilities.
• Operational Excellence: Maintain high-reliability services (4 9s SLA) while optimizing cost and latency.
• Industry Influence: Contribute to open specifications and represent Atlassian in AI interoperability groups.
