Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Specialist Structures Design Engineer to contribute to aerospace vehicle design from concept through production and sustainment. You will define engineering for structural components and assemblies, optimizing for operation, maintenance, and service while leading a design team and coordinating supplier efforts.

Location can be Mesa, AZ or Tustin, CA with on-site work four days a week and one day remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 12+ years in aerospace with a strong design emphasis.
• Experience with composite aircraft structures and industry standards.
• Expert CAD skills and knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of design engineers on assigned projects.
• Review drawings and manufacturing procedures for conformance.
• Develop design definitions for system components and assemblies.
• Mentor teammates and manage supplier efforts.
