Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Aerospace Software Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of flight-critical software for national security missions. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and deliver data processing, simulation, and operator interfaces in an agile environment.

This role requires 8+ years of software experience, proficiency in Python/Java/C++, and Linux. You will collaborate with systems engineers and mission designers to meet mission requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience with front-end and/or back-end application development.
• Experience with software development in a Linux environment.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of software applications for aerospace systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, mission designers, and other stakeholders to define software requirements and architecture.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Develop user interfaces that are intuitive, efficient, and meet the needs of our operators.
• Create and maintain software for data processing, analysis, and visualization.
• Develop and maintain simulation software for testing and verification of aerospace systems.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software on schedule.
