Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Principal Crew and Equipment Design Engineer or Sr. Principal Engineer to join a seasoned team.

The role focuses on design and integration of equipment/LRU onto aerospace platforms, with onsite work in Melbourne, FL. The position requires an active US Secret (or higher) clearance, leadership experience, and the ability to deliver complex solutions within schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in STEM with required experience as specified.
• Experience leading others in engineering projects.
• Experience delivering complex technical solutions within cost/schedule constraints.
• Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develops ICDs, creates layouts, machined parts, sheet metal details, and installs of system equipment (LRU).
• Uses NX for 3D Model-Based Definition and releases engineering packages using Teamcenter CPLM.
• Facilitates design reviews with stakeholders to meet requirements.
• Collaborates with inter-department vehicle sub-system teams including structure, electrical, hydraulics, and manufacturing.
