Job summary

Michelman, Inc. seeks an Advanced Scientist to join the Global R&D team in its Digital Print division.

You will develop waterborne product prototypes by linking structure and properties to novel functionality, collaborating across sales, technology, marketing, and manufacturing to turn concepts into product platforms. You will lead experiments, build process knowledge, and deliver timely technical results to leadership, supporting inkjet packaging markets and customer trials in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer/Materials Science, or related field with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Experience developing waterborne materials and/or formulated products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop problem statements based on market trends and customer needs.
• Lead development of application-centric solutions within the Digital Print team.
• Design and conduct lab-scale product development experiments.
• Build knowledge of coatings application methods and performance tests.
• Develop new product prototypes and evaluate against market success criteria.
• Document experiments and results thoroughly for leadership.
• Plan and execute projects using Michelman’s project management process.
• Provide technical reports to business and technology leadership.
• Collaborate with global technical team and draft user guidelines for products.
• Provide technical support for customer trials.
• Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
