Job summary

Michelman, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Scientist to join the Global Research & Development organization, supporting Agriculture and Materials Innovation. You will develop waterborne formulations and application-focused solutions by linking structure–property relationships with performance outcomes.

The role requires hands-on formulation experience, problem-solving, and collaboration with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to translate concepts into viable product platforms.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer/Materials Science or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant industrial experience in formulation, coatings, polymeric materials, agricultural technologies, or related application development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and marketing to define problem statements from market trends and customer needs.
• Lead development of application-focused solutions across Agriculture Coatings and Materials Innovation.
• Design lab-scale experiments and oversee pilots or larger scale testing.
• Evaluate coating performance on seeds and related substrates (adhesion, durability, etc.).
• Prepare reports for business and technology leadership and transfer knowledge across teams.
