Marathon Petroleum in Carson, California, seeks an Advanced Process Control Engineer to lead MPC/APC projects across refining units, driving optimization and sustained value realization. The role demands deep process knowledge, strong analytics, and mentorship to junior engineers.

Onsite schedules include 9/80, 5/40, or 4/1 with occasional after-hours support. Qualifications include a BS in Chemical Engineering, 10+ years in refining/related industries with 4+ years in APC, and US work

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering required.
• Ten or more years of engineering experience in refining, petrochemical, or related industries with at least four years in APC engineering.
• Experience leading APC applications from concept through sustained operation, including economic justification and benefit tracking.
• Must be able to wear PPE in refinery, access restricted areas, and obtain hair drug test.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development, commissioning, and sustainment of MPC/APC applications to optimize unit performance and profitability.
• Own end-to-end APC project lifecycle including opportunity identification, economic benefit estimation, controller design, model development, commissioning, and audits.
• Mentor APC and Process Control engineers and train Operations on APC functionality and economic intent.
• Collaborate with Operations, Planning, Economics to align APC with business objectives and constraints.
