AspenTech is a global software leader helping utilities meet the rising demand for resources with sustainable solutions. As a Principal DMS Power Systems Engineer, you will design, configure, troubleshoot, and deploy ADMS projects for utility clients, covering DPF, FLISR, and VVC/VVO capabilities.

You will collaborate with ADMS engineers, Architecture & Product Solution teams, and OSI development, while mentoring engineers and ensuring contract requirements and standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in a similar Application Engineering role.
• Understanding of Electric Distribution Power Systems and modeling (Load Flow Studies, Coordination Studies, Arc Flash Studies).
• Programming and scripting experience (C/Python).
• Database and data structure knowledge and experience (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS).
• Strong experience troubleshooting complex systems and software applications.
• Knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Willingness to travel (25% average).

Responsibilities

• Implement control systems at electric utilities to improve efficiency and meet contract requirements.
• Lead and participate in design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects.
• Provide technical direction to engineers during project execution.
• Install and configure ADMS applications such as DPF, FLISR, and VVC/VVO.
• Lead testing events with the customer.
• Collaborate with OSI development teams to troubleshoot and test product changes.
• Interface with GIS teams to load electrical network models into the DMS.
• Configure and integrate software components to meet contract specs and test with customers.
• Train customers on operating the systems.
