Job summary

Mountain Youth Academy, a residential behavioral health facility, seeks a meticulous Lead Admissions Clinician to conduct assessments, determine admission eligibility, and coordinate referrals for adolescents. You will serve as a clinical resource and liaison to ensure smooth onboarding, accurate recordkeeping, and timely communication with applicants and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in admissions, customer service, healthcare, education, or administrative support preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Friendly, empathetic, and solution-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and evaluations of patients seeking behavioral health treatment.
• Determine the appropriateness of admission based on presenting symptoms, clinical needs, level of care, and available hospital services.
• Serve as a clinical resource for complex or high-risk referrals and admissions.
• Assist with coordination of referrals, transfers, and admissions to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate records in databases and filing systems.
• Schedule interviews, tours, assessments, or appointments as needed.
• Communicate admission decisions, next steps, and deadlines to applicants.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless onboarding/admission transitions.
• Provide excellent customer service to applicants, families, and referral sources.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Prepare reports and track admissions data as requested.

Responsibilities

Mountain Youth Academyis nestled in Mountain City, Tennessee which is conveniently located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients.
