Job summary

Fidelity & Guaranty Life in Des Moines, IA seeks a Director-level Actuary to oversee pension risk transfer, payout, UL and Trad AXIS models, ensuring governance, documentation, and production readiness. The role partners with valuation, pricing, and external vendors, while mentoring a team of actuarial professionals.

The ideal candidate has ASA or FSA, 6+ years of actuarial experience, and strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to drive risk-aware modeling and effective

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, actuarial science or related field.
• ASA required; FSA strongly preferred.
• 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Axis or similar actuarial modeling software is required.
• Experience with Indexed Universal Life line of business is preferred.
• Experience with US Statutory and US GAAP modeling applications (Valuation, Pricing, ALM/CF Testing).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to understand model enhancements for Corporate Payout, PRT, UL, and Trad AXIS models.
• Prepare Corporate Payout, PRT, UL, and Trad AXIS models for production runs.
• Provide technical model support and training to actuarial users.
• Maintain model documentation and oversee model change management processes.
• Work with users to ensure compliance with governance policies and procedures.
• Ensure development and integration best practices across the model lifecycle.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
• Lead as a subject matter expert in Actuarial Governance concepts.
