Natural Resources in Anchorage, AK seeks an Accounting Technician 3 to lead a small accounting team. You will certify IRIS transactions and supervise three technicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to state procedures in payables and travel processing.

Qualifications

• Two years of technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience, with at least one year at full-proficiency.
• Substitutions: Accounting Technician certification may substitute for one year at non-full-proficiency level.
• Post-secondary education can substitute for up to two years of experience if accounting coursework is shown.
• An associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration can substitute for two years of experience with accounting coursework.

Responsibilities

• Certifies IRIS financial transactions (TAPOs, CH8s, OTPAYs, TAPRCs, PRCCs, GAXs, INs, PRCs) per state and DNR procedures.
• Provide lead oversight for 3 Accounting Technicians and guidance on complex financial transactions.
• Monitor team workload for efficiency and oversee staff development and training.
• Investigate and resolve errors on financial documents; correct as needed.
• Process adjusting journal entries and support continuous improvement in processes.
• Support accurate financial integrity and collaborate with the team to ensure compliance.
