Job summary

The State of Georgia is seeking an Accounting Supervisor/Patient Account Officer within the Finance Department at East Central Regional Hospital. This role supervises staff and oversees core accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budget monitoring.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and have extensive accounting experience, with leadership experience in a public/healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and 5 years of accounting/fiscal experience, incl. 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years accounting experience; or 2 years if experience in patient billing (Medicare/Medicaid/3rd party).

Responsibilities

• Supervises, guides, and/or instructs subordinate staff on assignments.
• Oversees accounting and fiscal control functions (A/P, A/R, payroll, budgeting).
• Ensures compliance with state employment requirements and background checks.
