Southland Industries is seeking a Lead Accountant to oversee financial recordkeeping, manage accounts, and ensure GAAP compliance. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and effective communication across departments and external customers.

You will collaborate with the Accounting Manager on daily operations, policy updates, and fiscal strategies, while leading projects and delivering month-end and year-end reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced accounting knowledge.
• Excellent organization skills with high level of attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to communicate across all levels.
• Must be analytical, innovative, and decisive; able to analyze and resolve complex issues.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.

Responsabilités

• Assist Accounting Manager to oversee daily operations ensuring accuracy and integrity of accounting systems and internal controls.
• Maintain knowledge of best practices, and current and proposed legislation and regulation; recommend changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Works with the accounting manager on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization.
• Lead departmental projects to include change/implementation of new policies and procedures.
• Complete month-end and fiscal year-end financial reports.
• Reviews/completes analysis of complex accounting issues.
