Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group in Phoenix is partnering with a growing construction firm to add a Lead Accountant who will serve as the Controller’s right hand and own key accounting processes.

You’ll handle month-end close, job costing, reporting, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, ensuring accuracy across multiple locations. Onsite role with a competitive USD 80K–100K salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Construction accounting and job costing experience required.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage Expense, or similar ERP/accounting systems required.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare financial statements and WIP schedules.
• Manage job costing and project profitability analysis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting.
• Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Partner with operational teams on project-related accounting.
• Support audits, internal controls, and compliance.
• Help support accounting across multiple operating locations.
• Work closely with the Controller on reporting and other accounting initiatives.

Lead Accountant | Construction Accounting
Phoenix, AZ | Onsite | $80K–$100K

We’re partnering with a growing construction-related organization in Phoenix that’s adding a Lead Accountant to its team. This is a hands‑on role working as the Controller’s right-hand and is a great next step for a Senior Accountant ready for more ownership, visibility, and leadership exposure.

The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation along with hands‑on construction accounting and job costing experience.

What You’ll Do

• Support month-end and year-end close
• Prepare financial statements and WIP schedules
• Manage job costing and project profitability analysis
• Support budgeting and forecasting
• Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities
• Partner with operational teams on project-related accounting
• Support audits, internal controls, and compliance
• Help support accounting across multiple operating locations
• Work closely with the Controller on reporting and other accounting initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction accounting and job costing experience
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage Expense, or similar ERP/accounting systems required
• Comfortable working directly with operations and project teams
• Hands‑on mentality with the ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Certified payroll and/or prevailing wage experience
• Multi‑location accounting experience
