Job summary

G MASS Consulting in New York seeks an Access Governance & Compliance Operations Consultant to join the Legal & Compliance function of a leading global financial services firm. You will own an established access governance program, oversee day-to-day controls, and coordinate with engineers, risk, and operations on BAU tasks.

Based on-site five days a week in Midtown, NY, with start targeted for August 2026 and a mature, automated control environment to maintain.

Qualifications

• Experience in identity and access management (IAM) or access governance.
• Experience reviewing access controls in regulated environments.
• Ability to engage engineers on systems architecture and entitlement configuration.
• Proven ability to coordinate across a large, matrixed organisation.
• Highly organized with a concurrent BAU workload.
• Willingness to flag violations and enforce control requirements.
• Familiarity with JIRA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end management of access controls separating two entities within the same firm.
• Coordinate rollout of new access control groupings across systems and teams.
• Monitor daily exception reports and investigate anomalies with system owners.
• Administer access controls across Active Directory, Unix groups, JIRA, SharePoint, and service accounts.
• Manage physical access controls including badge and door access.
• Review employee transfers and adjust access accordingly.
• Review and approve new department access configurations as teams are created.
• Manage shared resources tracking for technology infrastructure.
• Review software access requests from a compliance and access perspective.
• Administer entitlements within Legal and Compliance access systems.
• Conduct annual audits of access groups and shared resources.
• Test Active Directory and Unix access groups to verify controls.
• Track workstreams and report to senior leadership via JIRA.
