Job summary

Hillard Electric, Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking an access control technician to install, configure, and troubleshoot card readers, door controllers, and credential management platforms.

You will perform low-voltage cabling, site surveys, and coordinate with project managers and engineers; complete installation documentation and QA; and participate in testing and commissioning after project completion. Prior experience with Lenel, Software House, Genetec, Honeywell or similar is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years installing and servicing access control systems.
• Familiarity with Lenel, Software House, Genetec, Honeywell or similar.
• Experience with low-voltage cabling and termination.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• English reading/writing/speaking essential.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperatures.
• Verifiable experience and character references required.

Requirements

• Experience with low-voltage cabling and termination practices
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and perform basic math
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs, work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperatures
• Verifiable experience and character references required
