Job summary

Culver Community Schools Corporation is seeking a high school head coach to organize and supervise a comprehensive athletics program, lead in-service and staff development, and model exemplary sportsmanship.

The role requires coaching experience in major sports, strong knowledge of sport techniques, and the ability to motivate student athletes while maintaining high standards of conduct, safety, and academic balance.

Qualifications

• Coaches must be able to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Head coach must have prior successful coaching experience in the assigned sport (major sports).
• Must possess substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay current with new theories and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Has thorough knowledge of Culver Community Schools Corporation athletic policies and ensures staff compliance.
• Understands system, state, and league regulations; interprets and applies them consistently.
• Directs staff through conferences, clinics, and staff meetings to align with the overall program.
• Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth through clinics and policy adherence.
• Delegates duties, supervises implementation, and evaluates assistants at season end.
• Maintains discipline, handles grievances, and works to boost morale and cooperation.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the athletic director/principal.
• Assists in scheduling, transportation, and tournament logistics; ensures facilities times are met.
• Provides documentation for physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility; safeguards equipment and sites.
• Advises and recommends policy or procedural changes to athletic leadership.
• Mentors student athletes to promote character traits and supports homework and conduct monitoring.
• Assists athletes in college or advanced education selection.
