Job summary

Gallup-McKinley County Schools is seeking an Athletic Coach for 7th grade basketball at Chief Manuelito Middle School to lead and develop a competitive program during the winter season.

The role requires coaching experience, completion of licensing requirements, and the ability to supervise staff and coordinate practices, evenings and weekends as needed. Salary listed is $4,000 for the season.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport.

Responsibilities

• To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
• Instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence and pride of accomplishment.
• Work with students interested in sports, provide necessary practice support and advice for a team to be successful.
