Job summary

Gallup-Mckinley County Schools in Gallup, NM, seeks an Athletic Coach for 7th Grade Boys Basketball for the 2026-2027 school year. Work location: Gallup Middle School. Winter sport contract with a fixed season.

The ideal candidate holds or can obtain an Athletic Coaching License (7-12) and a High School Diploma or equivalency. Evening and weekend duties are expected during the season.

Qualifications

• Has ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• The head coach must understand the technical aspects of the sport and stay current with coaching theories.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training for team success.
• Coordinate and support a staff of coaches under the athletic director and principals.
• Work evenings and weekends as part of the sports season.
