Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a 3rd Shift Powder Coating & Assembly Supervisor to lead and coordinate all third-shift powder coating and assembly operations. You will guide hourly teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in powder coating, metal fabrication, welding, or assembly manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the 3rd shift powder coating and assembly departments.
• Lead, coach, and develop employees while fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
• Monitor workflow and staffing levels to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate production priorities, safety topics, and quality expectations.
• Ensure all powder coating processes meet customer specifications for coating quality, color, thickness, and finish.
• Monitor assembly operations to ensure products are built accurately according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Perform regular quality inspections and address defects through corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and safety policies.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and reduce production interruptions.
• Work with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to resolve manufacturing concerns.
• Monitor labor utilization, overtime, scrap, and production efficiencies.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Complete employee performance evaluations and assist with disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Maintain accurate production reports and shift documentation.
