Job summary

Kansas Children's Service League in Garden City, Kansas is seeking a full-time Head Start Education Supervisor. This role provides supervision, training, and day-to-day oversight of Head Start classrooms with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional evenings/weekends.

Salary is $50,000 annually with comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates have a degree in early childhood education and experience in Head Start or related settings, with leadership ability to guide staff toward high-quality program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or higher
• Advanced degree or equivalent coursework in early childhood education
• Associates degree in early childhood education with 2 years of experience in early childhood
• Active CDA with 3 years Head Start experience and progression toward bachelor's degree
• Willingness to pursue a bachelor's degree if needed

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and day-to-day training for Head Start staff
• Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews
• Support staff with daily job responsibilities and guidance
• Monitor classroom activities and provide feedback to staff and leadership
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and licensing regulations

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides general guidance and supervision to assigned staff in a designated supervision area. The Head Start Education Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day training and monitoring of Head Start classrooms.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

STAFF SUPERVISION

• Conduct regular supervision and meetings with staff.
• Complete performance reviews for each staff member supervised.
• Provide support and guidance to all assigned staff with their daily job responsibilities.
• Conduct frequent monitoring tasks to provide input and feedback accordingly to staff, management, and leadership teams.

SITE SUPERVISION DUTIES

• Ensure compliance with HSPPS and KDHE Licensing Regulations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education

OR

• Advanced degree with equivalent coursework in early childhood education and early education teaching experience.

OR

• Associates degree in early childhood education or other related field with 2 years of experience working in early childhood. Must be willing to work towards the completion of bachelor’s degree.

OR

• Active CDA with 3 years of Head Start Experience. Must be willing to work towards the completion of bachelor’s degree.

PREFERRED

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Experience with Head Start
