Job summary

WR Systems is seeking a skilled LCS Navigation Technician to provide technical support for shipboard navigation systems aboard Littoral Combat Ships, including MK39, AN/WSN-7 and related equipment.

You will perform pre-deployment grooms, troubleshooting, testing, and prepare reports on performance and maintenance actions. Travel up to 50% and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Formal technical training in U.S. Navy navigation equipment.
• 8+ years hands-on experience with U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.
• Experience in at least three areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test and Evaluation, Training.
• Recognized subject matter expert with leadership in defense environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform PDAs, system operations, software installs, configuration updates, troubleshooting, testing, and SOVT.
• Collect and analyze technical data; prepare reports on findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot, test, diagnose, and repair shipboard navigation equipment and systems.
• Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance and maintenance actions.
• Provide navigation SMEs for APLs, manuals, training curricula, MIPs, MRCs, and tests.
• Submit Daily and Weekly Status Reports within 24 hours.
• Attend daily shipboard status meetings to document progress and issues.

SUMMARY:

WR has an opportunity for an LCS Navigation Technician to provide technical support for navigation systems aboard Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), including MK39, AN/WSN-7, AN/WSN-7B, NAVIGAT, MARINS, AN/WSN-9, GPNTS, NAV-IS, VMS, NECDIS, and associated distribution systems. This position supports Casualty Reports (CASREPs), system installations, System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT), troubleshooting, and shipboard testing.

Position responsibilities

will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform Pre-Deployment Grooms (PDAs), system operations, software installations, configuration updates, troubleshooting, testing, and System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT).
• Collect and analyze technical data and prepare reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for identified shipboard issues and the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).
• Troubleshoot, test, diagnose, and repair shipboard navigation equipment and systems.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting equipment performance, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
• Provide navigation systems subject matter expertise in the development and review of Allowance Parts Lists (APL), technical manuals, training curricula, Maintenance Index Pages (MIPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), and test procedures.
• Prepare and submit Daily Status Reports (DSRs) and Weekly Status Reports (WSRs), ensuring issues are reported within 24 hours of occurrence.
• Attend daily shipboard status meetings to document accomplishments, communicate technical findings, and report outstanding issues.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

• Formal technical training in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.
• Eight (8)+ years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems, including experience in at least three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
  • Systems Requirements
  • Operational Requirements
  • Test and Evaluation
  • Training
• Recognized subject matter expertise in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems, with demonstrated technical leadership in military, government, or defense industry environments.

Position Salary Range:

$75,000 - $109,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
