Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Mission Security Coordinator to analyze security risks and coordinate travel and high-risk events. You will develop comprehensive security plans, perform risk assessments, and brief leadership on security status and mitigation strategies.

The role requires 5+ years in security operations, active clearance readiness, and strong English communication. Onsite in Norfolk, VA with collaboration across authorities and internal teams, and a focus on lessons learned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in security administration, risk management, criminology, public administration, or industrial security administration.
  • 3+ years' experience planning and executing security measures for major events involving VIPs or senior leadership.
  • Certification in Risk Management (e.g., PMP, CRMP) or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with security planning, travel security, and high-risk event coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze reports from travel databases to identify high-risk destinations and critical travel locations.
  • Collect and analyze security information from OSINT and other sources to assess risks before travel.
  • Provide comprehensive security briefings with actionable protocols and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop security plans for high-risk events and missions ensuring policy compliance.
  • Perform risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and suggest mitigations.
  • Lead site surveys of event venues and produce actionable security reports.
  • Prepare leadership security briefs and coordinate with law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
  • Assist on-site security management at events, overseeing registration and check-in.
  • Prepare after-action reports and lessons learned for future reference.

The role involves analyzing security information, providing briefings, developing security plans, and ensuring compliance with established security policies and procedures. The coordinator will work closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to mitigate risks and safeguard personnel and operations.Key Responsibilities* Analyze reports from travel databases to identify high-risk destinations and critical travel locations.* Collect and analyze security information from multiple sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), to assess risks and threats in advance of travel.* Provide comprehensive security briefings to travelers, offering specific advice on security protocols, local risks, and mitigation strategies.* Develop security plans for high-risk events and missions, ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.* Perform regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities at planned event sites and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.* Lead site surveys to assess potential vulnerabilities at event venues, developing actionable security reports and risk mitigation strategies.* Examine attendee lists for non-NATO participants and evaluate counterintelligence (CI) risks.* Prepare security briefs for leadership approval.* Coordinate security efforts for key events and external missions with local authorities, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies.* Assist in the on-site security management of events, providing oversight at registration and check-in points.* Prepare after-action reports and post-event analyses to identify key security challenges and document protocols for future reference.* Collaborate with internal teams to generate lessons learned products and historical security documents.Required Qualifications**Experience:** A minimum of 5 years' experience in security administration, risk management, criminology, public administration, or industrial security administration. This must include specific responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of security operations for high-profile events, international travel, or multinational operations. At least 3 years' experience in planning, managing, and executing security measures for major events involving VIPs or senior leadership is required.**Certifications:** Possession of a recognized certification in Risk Management (e.g., PMP, CRMP, or equivalent) or another relevant security-related qualification is required. Additional certifications in counterterrorism or crisis management will be considered an asset.**Technical Skills:** Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), security databases, and collaborative tools such as SharePoint and Teams.
