Cates Control Systems in Plano, TX is seeking a Layout / Staging Technician to join a skilled team. This role involves arranging hardware per drawings, drilling and mounting components, and managing paperwork for each part as shipments are prepared.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 75 pounds, and familiarity with wiring schematics. Typical hours are full-time with potential overtime; benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Ability to read wiring schematics.
• UL508A and NEC experience preferred.
• Good project and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Login to the appropriate software database based on the project number as shown on the drawings.
• Check out all hardware from the parts staging area.
• Layout all hardware and materials according to the drawings provided.
• Drill and install all parts onto the back panel.
• Make sure all empty boxes are kept until the job ships.
• Make sure all paperwork for each part is kept with the panel.
• Cut/Hole-punch enclosures according to the provided drawings.
• Install all required hardware on the enclosure.
• Locate and designate any hardware that needs to be “loose shipped” with project.
• Return any unused hardware for the back pan or enclosure.
• Complete the layout check sheet supplied with drawings.

The Role

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 5:30 pm, if a 30-minute lunch is taken.
• Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, if a 60-minute lunch is taken.
• Weekend availability: Saturdays from 6:00 am – 12:00 pm.
• Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.

Experience:

• Layout Technician: 2 years (Preferred)
• hand tools: 2 years (Preferred)
• UL508a: 1 year (Preferred)
• read wiring schematics: 1 year (Preferred)
