Cates is hiring Assembly Technicians in Plano, TX to join a hands-on team building products used in industrial automation. No prior manufacturing experience is required—as you’ll receive on-the-job training and support from a collaborative team.

You’ll assemble and wire control panels, follow drawings, and log production time while maintaining safety and quality. The role offers full-time hours, overtime, and competitive pay with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• No prior manufacturing or assembly experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire control panels and components by following simple work instructions and drawings.
• Ensure all wires are labeled at both ends correctly and that there are no wire frays.
• Make sure all terminations are tight.
• Ensure proper wire sizes and colors are used.
• Log all time spent on each job into the appropriate software database using the traveler supplied with drawings.
• Perform basic quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
• Use basic hand tools and production equipment safely.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Record completed work and production time as instructed.
• Communicate any questions or production issues to your team lead or supervisor.
• Work closely with teammates to meet daily production goals.

What You'll Do

As an Assembly Technician, you’ll work with a team to assemble products used in industrial automation and control systems. Every day is a little different, but your responsibilities may include:

• Assemble and wire control panels and components by following simple work instructions and drawings

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Shop is open Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
• We have two shifts you can choose to work, they are below:
  5:00 am – 3:30 pm
  6:00 am – 4:30 pm.
• Weekend availability: Saturdays from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm (expected to work one Saturday each month).
• Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.

• Plano, TX 75074: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
