Cates Control Systems in Plano, TX, is seeking a Layout / Staging Technician to join our automation team. You will lay out hardware per drawings, drill and mount components, and ensure paperwork stays with each panel. The role requires physical work, lifting up to 75 lbs, bending, and reading wiring schematics.

Prior UL508A/NEC exposure is preferred, with 2 years of experience recommended. We offer full-time employment with competitive hourly pay and benefits including 401(k),

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years prior experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds.
• Ability to read wiring schematic.
• UL508A and NEC experience.
• Good project and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Login to the software database based on project number.
• Layout hardware and materials per drawings.
• Drill and install parts onto the back panel.
• Keep empty boxes until the job ships and attach paperwork with each panel.
• Cut/Hole-punch enclosures per drawings and install hardware.
• Identify components that need loose shipment with the project.
• Return unused hardware after shipment and complete the layout check sheet.

Cates Control Systems, in Plano, TX is looking to hire a Layout / Staging Technician.

The Role

• Login to the appropriate software database based on the project number as shown on the drawings.
• Check out all hardware from the parts staging area.
• Layout all hardware and materials according to the drawings provided.
• Drill and install all parts onto the back panel.
• Make sure all empty boxes are kept until the job ships.
• Make sure all paperwork for each part is kept with the panel.
• Cut/Hole-punch enclosures according to the provided drawings.
• Install all required hardware on the enclosure.
• Locate and designate any hardware that needs to be “loose shipped” with project.
• Return any unused hardware for the back pan or enclosure.
• Complete the layout check sheet supplied with drawings.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2 years prior experience preferred
• This position requires a significant amount of bending and standing
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds at any time
• Ability to read wiring schematic
• UL508A and NEC experience
• Good project and time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 5:30 pm, if a 30-minute lunch is taken.
• Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, if a 60-minute lunch is taken.
• Weekend availability: Saturdays from 6:00 am – 12:00 pm.
• Overtime pay available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.
