Tyson Foods, Cobb Pedigree Complex in Deer Lodge, TN, seeks a Laying House Worker (Temp) with a 5:45 am–3:45 pm shift schedule. Compensation starts at $17.00/hour with differential for evenings, nights, and weekends; temps start at $16.90.

The role includes egg collection, house upkeep, feeding, weighing birds, and strict bio-security in a team-driven poultry operation. Benefits on day one for full-time hire include health, dental, vision, disability, 401(k) and stock options, education

Qualifications

• Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
• If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
• Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days and no more than 3 rehires at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities

• Collect eggs from belts, nest boxes, slats and pen floors; record egg data and mark for line and source.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties in the house per Daily Checklist and maintain equipment and infrastructure.
• Feed and water birds according to schedules; manage feed distribution and rationing.
• Weigh hens and roosters weekly, record weights and monitor bird health and mortality.
• Maintain bio-security and follow company safety guidelines; use PPE as required.
• Support additional duties as assigned by production needs.
