Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 5+ years in donor relations or similar fundraising roles.
• Proven success in major gift fundraising, especially $50,000+ in higher education or nonprofit contexts.
• Ability to build productive donor relationships and engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Experience working with boards/committees to maximize engagement with the institution.
• Strategic thinker with excellent organizational skills and the ability to plan long-term goals.
• Strong written and oral communication; capable of persuasive proposals and asks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a major gift portfolio of 125–150 prospects through all donor stages.
• Lead moves management, coordinate research, and prepare proposals for gifts to priorities.
• Collaborate with Law Advancement Communications to craft inquiries and funding requests.
• Align fundraising efforts with Law School goals; brief leaders and faculty for donor meetings.
• Oversee volunteer relationships and boards to expand the major gift base.
• Support the William & Mary Law School Foundation gift administration and stewardship.
