University of Dayton School of Law invites applications for one Assistant or Associate Professor of Academic Success. This non-tenure track position will begin July 16, 2027, and may renew for longer terms based on performance.

The role involves teaching, advising, and developing a comprehensive academic success program for students in both residential and hybrid JD formats. The ideal candidate will have a JD from an ABA-accredited law school, teaching or mentoring experience, and a commitment

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Professional teaching, tutoring, mentoring experience.
• Three or more years of teaching that demonstrates knowledge of academic support or bar pedagogy (Associate rank).

Responsibilities

• Teach academic success and bar preparation courses (legal reasoning, reading, analysis, exam writing).
• Provide individualized and group academic advising and coaching to students.
• Design, deliver, and assess a comprehensive academic support program from orientation through graduation and bar prep.
• Support students and collaborate with faculty in residential and hybrid J.D. programs.
• Participate in conferences, scholarship, and service activities.
• Engage in governance and service on law school committees.
