University of Connecticut School of Law is seeking a Student Engagement Research & Instruction Librarian 1 or 2. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role delivers research, reference and instructional services across the law school community.

Responsibilities include developing programs for student success, coordinating marketing of library services, supervising student workers, and supporting faculty research.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to make effective presentations to individuals and/or groups.
• Ability to work collegially with diverse groups.
• Evidence of participation in professional development.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekend hours.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver programs promoting student success, including research consultations, training, outreach, and library orientation.
• Coordinate marketing of library services, resources, and spaces, including blog and web content.
• Hire, train, and supervise student employees staffing the Information Desk.
• Serve as a liaison to student groups and student-edited publications.
• Assess student research needs via surveys, focus groups, and other assessments.
• Provide research and instructional support for day and evening division students.
• Contribute to faculty research by conducting in-depth legal and interdisciplinary research and creating memoranda.
• Provide reference assistance in person and virtually, including evening/weekend rotations.
• Develop instructional materials, guides, and tutorials.
• Participate in collection development and department meetings.
• Engage in professional development opportunities.
