Job summary

The Elon University School of Law Library in Greensboro, NC seeks a Reference/Access Services Librarian to lead the Access Services department and staff. The role includes supervising the Circulation Paraprofessional, coordinating hours, reserves, ILL, and desk scheduling, and managing statistics.

You will co-teach basic legal research with other librarians, teach first-year students, and serve as a reference liaison to faculty, supporting the law school’s instructional programs and student

Qualifications

• Requires MLIS and JD; combinations considered if qualified.
• 2+ years of professional library experience, supervisory experience preferred.
• Flexibility in scheduling due to academic calendar and library hours.
• Experience in teaching and providing reference in a law library.
• Expertise in legal databases and legal research instruction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Access Services department and Circulation Paraprofessional.
• Hire, train, and schedule student workers.
• Set and manage circulation and reference desk schedules, including virtual reference.
• Teach Legal Research, develop instructional materials, and co-teach with librarians.
• Provide general reference and research assistance to Elon Law students and faculty.
• Serve as liaison to assigned law school faculty and adjuncts; participate in committees.
