Job summary

The Washington County Law Library is currently hiring for a Librarian I to join the team. You will assist with reference for lawyers and the public, support program development, training, and outreach in a collaborative, small-library setting.

A Master's Degree in Library Science (with coursework in legal bibliography and research) is required; six years of para-professional experience can substitute for the degree. The position is exempt, regular, with a pay range of $67,342.20 to $81,840.24.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
Coursework in legal bibliography and research.
Six years of para-professional law librarian experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Responsibilities

Assist the Law Librarian with administrative tasks, collection development, technical services, and providing reference for both lawyers and non-lawyers.
Assist in program creation; assist patrons with legal research and provide effective use of resources; update and create legal research guides and content for the Law Library's web presence; and provide referrals to appropriate agencies or organizations.
