The Washington County Law Library in Hillsboro, OR seeks a Librarian I to assist the Law Librarian with reference services, collection development, and technical processing. This in-person role supports lawyers and the public with legal information access and research guidance.

You will contribute to program creation, update legal research guides, and help provide referrals to appropriate agencies, while promoting excellent service and access to resources in a dynamic government library.

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or six years of para-professional law librarian experience.
  • Relevant coursework in legal bibliography and legal research.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Law Librarian with reference for lawyers and non-lawyers.
  • Support collection development and technical services.
  • Develop and update legal research guides and web content.
  • Provide referrals to appropriate agencies or organizations.

From modernizing legal information access to partnering with the Law Librarian to build creative, responsive services for both legal professionals and the public, this is an exciting time to join us.**Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):**The Librarian I will assist the Law Librarian with administrative tasks, collection development, technical services, and providing reference for both lawyers and non-lawyers. The incumbent will assist in program creation; assist patrons with legal research and provide effective use of resources; update and create legal research guides and content for the Law Library's web presence; and provide referrals to appropriate agencies or organizations.*To review the complete classification, including the full list of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position, use this link:***Minimum Qualifications**Education and Experience:* A Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited American Library Association, program or related field, with coursework in legal bibliography and research or related field.
